What OB-Xf is

The Surge team’s open-source continuation of OB-Xd: Oberheim OB-X flavour, patch-compatible, GPL forever.

  • Continuation of the last open-source OB-Xd release
  • OB-Xd patches and banks are compatible
  • Free in all contexts, source available under GPL3

How to install OB-Xf

OB-Xf runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. It ships as VST3, AU, CLAP and LV2, plus a standalone version that needs no DAW. Logic Pro and GarageBand users need the AU build. If your DAW supports CLAP (Bitwig, Reaper, FL Studio), prefer that build. Download it from surge-synth-team.org, run the installer or copy the plugin into your plugin folder, then rescan plugins in your DAW.
